Kids Ballet Classes in Kansas City

Children’s Division

The Children’s Division is designed to progressively introduce young students to the joy of movement and fundamentals of ballet. The focus is on developing and improving motor skills and coordination, attention and listening skills, and creativity in a joyful and positive environment. Many classes are taught to live piano accompaniment, a crucial element in developing the child’s understanding of the relationship between music and movement.

Performances

All KCBS students have an end-of-the-year performance opportunity in May. Creative Movement students will have an in-studio demonstration during their regular scheduled class time. Students in Fundamentals through Level 1 participate in the Children’s Showcase at the Bolender Center. KCBS also hosts two annual watch weeks for families, one in the fall and one in the spring (see the school calendar for dates).
