About Kansas City Ballet Guild

Are you looking for ways to get more involved with Kansas City Ballet? The Kansas City Ballet Guild is a group of over 200 members who serve as advocates for dance and ballet in the Kansas City community. We provide financial assistance to the Kansas City Ballet through the Nutcracker Boutique, the Annual Ball, and other special events. Join the Guild and enjoy fun opportunities with a community of dance enthusiasts!

Join us for the first time or renew your membership by clicking above to order online. You may also download this form and mail it in with your payment.

Our programming is changing which means we gather both during the daytime and evening.  We have special presentations from guest choreographers, dancers and staff who share behind the scenes details of upcoming performances from music to costuming and staging.  We love to party and especially enjoy it when the dancers attend, too! We throw three highly attended luncheons every year (Fall Kick Off, Nutcracker and Spring Celebration). We see movies, get discounted tickets to other performing arts venues and generally enjoy meeting others who share our interests in the arts and in the Kansas City community.

We have two levels of membership. While Member dues allow us to conduct Guild business, Relevé dues allow us to also sponsor dancer attendance at Guild events and provide holiday gifts for the dancers. Please consider the Relevé option when joining.

Guild Membership Levels

  • $50 Guild Member
  • $150 Guild Relevé Member

All members are encouraged to be a Kansas City Ballet season subscriber and attend the annual Ballet Ball.

Guild Fundraising

On Saturday, October 7, the much anticipated Diamond Ball, presented by the Kansas City Ballet Guild, kicked off Kansas City Ballet’s 60th anniversary season at the beautiful InterContinental Kansas City At The Plaza. Guests enjoyed a lively cocktail party with delicious cuisine, breathtaking decor by Larry Wheeler Design and Craig Sole Design, crowd-pleasing entertainment by Kokomo, and two Kansas City Ballet mini-performances. Melanie and Mike Fenske, senior vice president of the Global Facilities Group at Burns & McDonnell, chaired the event, which drew 450 formally-attired guests and grossed more than $476,000 for Kansas City Ballet. Loren Whittaker, a lecturer at The Kansas City Art Institute, and Tom Whittaker, chief legal officer at J.E. Dunn Construction and past president of Kansas City Ballet’s Board, served as the Honorary Chairmen.  Before guests danced the night away, Guild President Gigi Rose honored Elizabeth Hard Simms (the first Ballet Ball Co-Chairman in 1968) with the 2017 Pirouette Award for her commitment to the performing arts. The Guild also sponsors and staffs the Nutcracker Boutique at all Kansas City Ballet Nutcracker performances. We sell traditional and whimsical nutcrackers, ballet and Nutcracker themed ornaments and other Nutcracker inspired items. Net proceeds benefit the Kansas City Ballet.
