Dancer for a Day
Girls and boys entering first, second, or third grade in Fall 2013 are invited to enroll to be a dancer for a day in the KCB studios.  Students will take an age-appropriate dance class with live music, learn a ballet story and create choreography to match the music themes, learn about various types of dance shoes, see Kansas City Ballet dancers at work and discover what happens in KCB’s costume shop.

KC Dance Day

9:00 - 6:00 p.m.
The third year of this exciting community event includes free performances by youth groups, world cultures, dance showcases featuring Kansas City Ballet and other professional companies, plus free dance and movement classes for all ages.

Fancy Free

Three sailors on leave in New York City make for great fun in Fancy Free. Legendary choreographer Jerome Robbins’ first ballet, accompanied by the exuberant music of Leonard Bernstein, sets the high-spirited tone for a spectacular evening of dance. Three additional ballets complete the evening — the classic audience favorite Allegro Brillante plus two premieres including William Whitener’s Triple Play and a World Premiere by Jodie Gates.

Nutcracker Ballet
Celebrate the holiday season with cocktails, dinner and dancing at the Nutcracker Ball. Formerly the Ballet Ball, this can’t-miss event is December 6 in the Bartle Hall Grand Ballroom. Join us for Kansas City’s best event of the year. Honorary Chairmen: Dr. Michael and Ginger Frost. Proceeds benefit Kansas City Ballet and Kansas City Ballet School. Fascinating, terrifying and romantic perfectly describe the marvel that is Michael Pink’s internationally acclaimed Dracula. The spellbinding story of the nocturnal Count who survives on the blood of the living is a tale of seduction and surrender, sensuality and danger. During the performance the Kansas City Symphony will perform Philip Feeney’s score.
