October 12-21, 2012: Carmina Burana

Carmina Burana is one of the most requested ballets by Kansas City audiences. A thrilling tapestry of dancers, singers and orchestra, the entire production is set to Carl Orff’s heart-pounding score. Toni Pimble’s Carmina Burana shares the evening with Lynne Taylor-Corbett’s complex and inventive Mercury and Ben Stevenson’s End of Time — a Kansas City audience favorite. Featuring music from the Kansas City Symphony, these three works create a powerful and emotionally stirring evening.

holiday season! As soon as the lights dim, you’ll be transported
to a magical place. From the magnificent sets and costumes
to the acclaimed Kansas City Symphony playing Tchaikovsky’s
wondrous music, you’ll witness some of the most glorious dancing on earth.

March 15-24, 2013: A Midsummer Night's Dream
Choreographer: William Whitener
Composer: Felix Mendelssohn

A ballet about the transforming power of love, William Whitener’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is based on William Shakespeare’s comedy about the romantic misadventures of two mortal couples and the king and queen of the fairies. The program also features the return of Toni Pimble’s breathtaking Concerto Grosso and Jessica Lang’s stunning pas de deux, Splendid Isolation III. All performed with music from the Kansas City Symphony.

May 3-12, 2013: Hey-Hay, Going to Kansas City

Groundbreaking African-American choreographer Donald McKayle presents Hey-Hay, Going to Kansas City. A celebration of
the golden age of jazz, the ballet pays tribute to the era of nightclubs and dance halls when Kansas City was considered the Paris of the Plains. Kansas City Ballet also brings you the nationally acclaimed Common People, choreographed by Margo Sappington and set to the spicy vocals of actor William Shatner with music by Ben Folds, plus a new work by Karole Armitage. You’ll be dazzled by this unique night of dance.
