KC Dance Day

Enjoy our 7th annual KC Dance Day at the Bolender Center from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with FREE dance classes and FREE performances; even an open rehearsal by Kansas City Ballet dancers! New Dance Partners

September 22-23, 2017
Yardley Hall | Johnson County Community College

New Dance Partners, a project for new work in dance, has been produced by the Performing Arts Series at Johnson County Community College since 2013 to further artistic growth in dance by creating new work and encouraging collaboration between Kansas City arts organizations. This year, Kansas City Ballet, Wylliams/Henry Contemporary Dance Company, and Störling Dance Company are the collaborative partners.

As part of Kansas City Ballet’s commitment to engage the community-at-large, we are offering a unique educational series again this season titled DANCE SPEAKS. KC Ballet’s Artistic Director and R & J Choreographer Devon Carney and guests share their special experiences and personal stories related to the ballet Romeo & Juliet, and how those experiences inform their work for our Company. Held at Kansas City Ballet’s home, the Todd Bolender Center for Dance & Creativity, this DANCE SPEAKS will provide a different perspective for those interested in Shakespeare and dance!
