One of the most invaluable aspects of training at the Kansas City Ballet School is the opportunity for many students to gain stage experience at a young age. Performing before a live audience teaches stage decorum, instills confidence and facilitates the transition from student to professional.

The Nutcracker
Each year more than 200 students (Children I and higher) are selected to appear with Kansas City Ballet in its annual holiday production of The Nutcracker. Participation is by audition only.

School Performance
Each spring the School stages a student performance, open to a paying public. The performances begin with class demonstrations given by the lower level students. Select advanced-level students then perform in ballets from the Company's repertory, as well as in works created especially for them.

MidWest Youth Ballet
The MidWest Youth Ballet, was founded in the spring of 1997 as a non-profit ballet company comprised of talented and dedicated young dancers. The company’s focus is on excellence in training and developing a professional performance atmosphere for the dancers. It has been the goal of Alecia Good, the director, to promote the art of ballet through education and performance for the dancers and the community. The company is made up of 22 dancers ranging in age from 13-18, who study under the directorship of Ms. Good and the faculty of the Kansas City Ballet. Additional Opportunities
More advanced students may be selected to perform with the Company in some of their larger repertory works. Students may have the opportunity to participate in performances of the Kansas City Ballet.
