Annual Fund Gifts Help Meet Funding Needs

Kansas City Ballet performed Giselle in Fall 2003. Ticket sales for this popular ballet only covered 10% of the $360,000 cost of the production. Generous gifts from supporters allowed KCB to bring this gem to the stage.

Sitting in the Lyric Theatre watching a performance of Kansas City Ballet, the grace and strength of the dancers on stage is striking. You may think, “Wow! They make it seem so effortless.”

What isn’t seen is the work that goes into creating that flawless beauty. Thousands of hours of rehearsal, hundreds of pointe shoes and dozens of production and administrative staff members all combine to put an evening of ballet on stage.

Those thousands, hundreds and dozens add up to an annual budget of over $4 million. In order to keep a healthy financial picture, which KCB has done for the last 10 years, the Ballet depends on the generous support of people in our community. Half of KCB’s budget comes from gifts, both large and small, given with appreciation for what KCB does best ... nourish the human spirit through dance.

KCB is nearing the end of its fiscal year. Please consider a gift to this year’s annual fund to support Kansas City Ballet. Click here to make an on-line gift. For information or to make a pledge by phone, email Lea Corriston, Development Associate at lcorriston@kcballet.org.

Thank you for your consideration and support.
