WOW - where has summer gone? This unseasonably cool weather has me ready for fall! I can’t wait for the Plaza Art Fair and of course, another wonderful Kansas City Ballet season. BARRE members can look forward to many fun events to complement the performances. The year kicks off SOON with a Kansas City tradition: Ballet in the Park. These FREE outdoor performances are the perfect way to say goodbye to summer. I hope you can join Kansas City Ballet BARRE in attending Ballet in the Park on Tuesday, September 6, at the Loose Park Rose Garden. We’ve made some special arrangements for food because the show happens to be right at dinner time. KC Masterpiece (4747 Wyandotte) on the Plaza is offering a 15% discount to BARRE members – just call in your order & pick up on the way to the Park! And if barbeque isn’t your bag, bring a picnic basket! We’ll gather at 5:30 p.m. and the show begins at 6:00 p.m. Look for the BARRE area up front. The BARRE season will continue with BARREFLY Happy Hours before the Fall, Winter and Spring performances. I am so excited that our events are changing to FRIDAY nights to better fit members’ schedules. We’re also shaking up the locations! Stay tuned for more information. In addition to performances and happy hours, there are great special events in store. On November 12th, you’ll want to attend Suenos del Salsa – a salsa dance party with the Kansas City Ballet dancers. Don’t know how to salsa? No worries, the evening starts with a free dance lesson. Another very exciting BARRE offer involves the newest Kansas City hot spot - The Mango Room. Located at the corner of 12th and Main in Downtown, The Mango Room offers 15% off exclusively Kansas City Ballet BARRE members who show their membership ID card (offer does not include alcohol). Stop by for tasty food, a fun atmosphere, and a great discount! Other events for the year include a dessert & drinks after-party for The Nutcracker, the ever-popular Bowling and Beer with Ballerinas, and an all-new mini-golf event. Stay tuned for more information. For now, just remember:
See you at the
