Programs in the Community


Students participated in Project X from Paseo Academy of the Arts in fall 2005.

 

 

 

Dancer for a Day
Participants will take a dance class (appropriate for their level) with live piano music.  They will learn and perform a ballet story and discover how dancers create and become characters on stage. The children will meet some of the professional dancers in the Kansas City Ballet company, see the studios where they work and visit the KCB costume shop.

WHO: First, Second and Third graders (please no children younger than first grade)

WHEN: Thursday, August 7, 9:00 A.M.—12:00 noon

WHERE: Kansas City Ballet Studios, 16th & Broadway (1616 Broadway), Kansas City, MO 64108

COST: $15 per girl (includes light snack and supplies)

BRING: Dress comfortably for movement/dance.  Tennis shoes, socks or ballet slippers.  Please, NO SANDALS or FLIP-FLOPS; NO BARE FEET!

Project X
This in-depth project offers participants an opportunity to attend three arts events which includes Kansas City Ballet performances. Project X members meet the artists and engage in lively discussion about what they saw and learned.

Tours
Kansas City Ballet invites you and your group to come see our company at work. Call to arrange a tour of our studios for your group of ten or more people.

We can present information about productions in progress and you can take a peek at our professional dancers in rehearsal. You'll also be able to see costumes in the making in our costume shop.

Master Classes
Arrange for intermediate to advanced dance students to take a class from one of the KCB’s master teachers.
