Matthew Donnell Mr. Donnell, a native of Mt. Airy, North Carolina, began ballet training under his mother's instruction. Mr. Donnell trained on full scholarship at the North Carolina School of the Arts and the Rock School of Pennsylvania Ballet. Now in his eighth year with the Kansas City Ballet, he has been seen in many principal roles. His most memorable roles include Merce Cunningham's solo Totem Ancestor, Hilarion in Giselle, Drosselmeyer in The Nutcracker and Iago in The Moor's Pavane. In addition to the ballet, he has performed in The Lost Colony, The Wizard of Oz, Fiddler on the Roof, and most recently Oklahoma! with the New Theatre. For fun, Mr. Donnell enjoys juggling and riding the unicycle. As always, he dedicates this year of performances in loving memory of his teacher and friend Duncan Noble.
