Charles Martin Mr. Martin received his primary ballet training from Penny Askew at the Western Oklahoma Ballet Academy in Clinton, Oklahoma. He has also studied intensively on scholarship at the American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive in New York, the Joffrey Ballet School in New York, and at the Glenda Brown Choreography Project in Austin and Kansas City. He performed extensively with Western Oklahoma Ballet Theatre, including leading roles in ballets such as The Nutcracker, The Firebird, and The Wizard of Oz, in addition to guest performances with Allegro Ballet of Houston. Mr. Martin has also had six choreographic works selected for the Emerging Choreographers Concert at Regional Dance America/Southwest Festivals. This is his first season with Kansas City Ballet.
